Campaign Committee
In 2023, Commissioner Chew formed a campaign committee named, "Friends of Chew 4 YOU!" Prior to 2023, Commissioner Chew operated without a campaign committee.
Section 1622 of the PA Election Statutes allows candidates to run for office without a committee and with their personal accounts. In 2019, for the first election, the bulk of the funds used for the election were Commissioner Chew's personal funds, so it made sense to report financing as a candidate, without a committee. Section 1622 states, "An individual who seeks public office is not required to operate with the assistance of a committee..." and "...A candidate is not required to establish a separate account." For re-election, Commissioner Chew needs to raise significant funds, so it makes sense to form a committee for fundraising purposes.
The committee elected the following officers in 2023:

Vice-Chair: Greg Mertz
Treasurer: Cynthia A. Chew
Secretary: Mary Humberger
Candidate: Douglas W. Chew
